Hi!  My name is Nola Watkins, and I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I was born on Christmas Eve in 1957, and I was raised on a farm in Loudoun, Virginia.  I was the youngest of 5 daughters.

I started drawing and painting as a child, and seemed to find a lot of pleasure from my artwork.  The Snowman design you see in my collections is a drawing from when I was seven years old.  I have always loved Snowmen!  Many other inspirations for my painting comes from Blue Ridge Pottery, which was hand-painted pottery from the ‘20’s to the ‘50’s made in Erwin, Tennessee.

After I graduated from High School, I attended Virginia Commonwealth University, and majored in Interior Design.  After graduation, I married my husband Bill and started our family.  We now have three wonderful children--- Wood, Jesse and Janie.  In 1985, we bought a family home located in South Boston, Virginia.  I am the fifth generation and our children are the sixth generation to live in our home.

My husband and I started our home pottery business in 1990 after the birth of our daughter.  I started with the tile trivets at small craft shows, and they quickly sold out.  I then looked for plain shaped pottery to paint on which to paint my designs, and our business took off!

Over the years, I have been asked to have my designs taken overseas and copied at a lower price, but my husband and I wanted to employ local people and to run an American Craft business.

We now travel to about 15 Craft Shows per year to sell retail, and we service about 500 Gift shops around the country.  I want to thank everyone who has purchased our pottery and ornaments, and I look forward to working with many more valued patrons in the future.  I hope you enjoy our products and find something that reminds you of home!

Warmest Regards,

Nola & Bill Watkins
